On 7 December 2021, a virtual meeting was held to express views on how to progress the trade and economic relationship between Kenya and the US. The crux of the meeting was the two Trade Ministers leading their senior teams in identifying "innovative responses" to critical challenges that would align the ongoing partnership with "worker-centered trade policy in the US-Kenya trade and investment relationship," while also enhancing the two countries' economic and trade ties.

The US pledged to continue dialogues and cooperation in areas of climate change, vaccination access, and regional integration initiatives.
